State
Government of Orissa had planned to set up 200 Krushak Bazaars
within a period of five years in a phased manner @ 40/year. So far,
42 Krushak Bazaars have been established in different parts of the state.
Objective of Krushak Bazaar:
- To
maximize the price realization of agricultural produce of our Krushak
brethren (farmers).

To make available nutritive and fresh produce at a reasonable price
for the consumers.
Methodology:
- By
facilitating direct contact between the producers & the consumers.
- By
eliminating the middlemen commission which is shared by the farmers
and the consumers.
- By
establishing new Krushak Bazaars (Farmer Markets) so that it is easily
accessible to both the producers and the consumers.
Board
activities at Krushak Bazaar:
- OSAMB
monitor the transaction process to avoid unhealthy practices at the
Bazaar places.
- It
provides free transportation to the small and marginal farmers.
- It
has undertaken certain outstanding and attractive schemes to attract
the clientele at the Bazaar premises.
- It
provides infrastructure and other services:
